Material
Wool
Wool is a natural, living material with a long tradition in rug weaving. The fibres are shape-stable and spring back into place after being pressed, which means the rug keeps its shape and appearance for years. Wool breathes and regulates temperature naturally, so the rug is comfortable to walk on both summer and winter, while the material naturally resists dirt and stains.
Care Instructions
How do I care for my wool rug in the best way?
Vacuum the rug when needed, but on low suction and without a brush or rotating nozzle, to remove loose fibres and dust. Rotate the rug regularly to even out wear and preserve its appearance for longer.
Some rugs can carry a smell from manufacturing and transport, so we recommend (if possible) airing your rug outdoors before use. Make sure the rug is protected from moisture and damp.
Air the rug outdoors from time to time to freshen it up, but avoid strong direct sunlight, which can fade the colours. Avoid beating the rug, as this can damage the material.
How do I wash my wool rug?
In case of spills, dab gently with a light, undyed cloth. Avoid rubbing the stain, as this can push the liquid deeper into the fibres. If you're unsure how to handle a stain, we recommend contacting us via our contact form before starting the cleaning process. Feel free to attach photos of the whole rug and the stains so we can help as effectively as possible.
Use mild soap and lukewarm water for lighter cleaning, and use water sparingly, as wool can be damaged by excessive moisture. For deeper cleaning, we recommend professional rug cleaning, especially for larger stains or a general refresh. Please note that we are not responsible if you use a third party for cleaning the rug.
